This film is stupid. It knows it's stupid. Nic Cage is Nic Cage-ing. And I'm having a lovely time watching the stupid movie. The writing, for such a stupid movie, is on point - for every question I had related to vampire lore or plot points, the next shot would explain why it.
I simply have to know if, in casting Nosferatu, Eggers saw Nicholas Hoult's performance in this and went, "Oh, this is my Thomas." Bro has managed to pull off the same role and performance in such incredibly different genres, I am impressed.
