  So obnoxious and over the top and yet so good. 

  It FEELS like PTA specifically set out to make the greatest movie ever. And some scenes made me roll my eyes, like when the whole cast starts singing the Aimee Mann song together. But in spite of all of the try hard qualities of the movie it is just so damn good.

  Even with the fancy editing and over the top plot devices the movie is simple. It’s about people…

  Oldboy 2003

  This is a good movie. It’s well shot. It’s dark. It’s grotesque. It’s well paced and the story reveals itself well. 

  In so many ways it’s better than The Handmaiden which is long and drags on at points. But The Handmaiden grabbed me from an emotional perspective in a way that Oldboy never did. 

  I just didn’t really get the point of it all. Didn’t connect.
