  what… and i can’t emphasize this enough… the hell is this. 

  so many weird staging moments. as if the director mostly worked for the stage?? and they just used a camera operator who happened to have their first day on the job? the composition is so clunky. lots of pointless pauses in face close-ups. and cramped frames.

  a slow burn of a movie. outstanding performances by phillip seymour hoffman as capote and clifton collins jr as perry smith. 

  makes me want to read in cold blood. a quiet movie that fits the simple life of holcomb kansas and the drag of a complicated appeals process. a well done piece but hit just a little under the mark for me. i wish that some of the internal dialogue (that hoffman plays expertly) was relayed to the audience a…

  what a fun light watch! really enjoyed the comedic performances all around, and also got to nerd out about the Odyssey parallels. hated the part with the poor cows :(((( i gasped SO loudly at seeing that on screen. but other parts made me genuinely smile. WE. THOUGHT. YOU. WAS. A. TOAD. - incredible. it walked the line of over-the-top without being too cheesy. enjoyed the watch!
