the substance coming out the same month as this and getting all the praise is criminal. Loved this movie. It had a hell of a lot more to say and did it in a far more thoughtful way.

The lead performance, the score, and the cinematography are great.
As for the rest? Fine.
on my second watch I couldn’t help but be annoyed by how blatantly corbet plucked characters from there will be blood and the master (temu daniel plainview/peggy dodd ). It wouldn’t bother me if guy pierce or felicity jones were good in the movie. no such luck.
