Dont know much about ballett, but normally enjoy modern ones. I really did not enjoy this film.
Had no arc, was cheesy and repetitive.
These dancers are clearly not actors.

    Late Shift

    ★★★★

Not a lot of plot, but quite intense.
We simply get taken along on a normal late shift in the hospital. But that is enough for one film.
The German title „Heldin“ feels a bit pathetic, I like „Late shift“ better.

    Dune: Part Two

This whole Dune saga might well be Villeneuvs passion project, but he really missed a lot of emotional beats on this one.
The characters complex developments feel jumpy. Especially Paul‘s mother, but also the lovestory and Pauls inner dilemma. It all has too little room and therefore feels unbelievable.
I had to laugh many times because, I just didn‘t believe the characters motivations.
    It felt like an act.

That being said. The film still has great world building and some incredible moments. But as a narrative it falls apart because the tention between the characters has no time to build.

It was wonderful to watch this film at the Annecy premiere in the big cinema. Standing ovations always make a movie experience even better.
But even without that the film was very enjoyable. It resonated with me and was full of observations from life that felt real.
Adam Eliotts films do feel repetitive and had I watched Marry and Max recently, I might not have enjoyed this as much. But since he always takes more than ten years to make a new movie, I can still look forward to the next movie he will make.
