Not my type of film now but i can see myself liking it much more ten years ago. The crime, sexual, relationships, violence are quite well put in place. One can say it lacks depth but whatever, it keeps you engaged from minute 1. Literally minute 1. The aesthetic and unique scent of 2000s urban scape of Asian cities is very well captured - middle class working men and women, start of a capitalistic lifestyle, cars look the same, east asian housing estates, tuition schools, etc, with the likes of Tsai Ming Liang.

Gosh we dont make pure drama popcorn films anymore.

Beautifully written, edited, scored film. The extensive amount of faces in this film feel like a peep into the past, into the innocent faces who all dream of a bright imaginary future, which will never be realised.

I'm sorry but the mood is just too jumpy at times. Most memorable one is when they choose play Radiohead in the background in a village of Siciliy in 1960s.
