Not my type of film now but i can see myself liking it much more ten years ago. The crime, sexual, relationships, violence are quite well put in place. One can say it lacks depth but whatever, it keeps you engaged from minute 1. Literally minute 1. The aesthetic and unique scent of 2000s urban scape of Asian cities is very well captured - middle class working men and women, start of a capitalistic lifestyle, cars look the same, east asian housing estates, tuition schools, etc, with the likes of Tsai Ming Liang.
Gosh we dont make pure drama popcorn films anymore.
