Interesting premise, not particularly well executed. It's evident that Abrams and Eastwood wanted to say something profound about the American justice system, but the final product lacks the confidence and depth needed to effectively get the message across.

  • Infinity Pool

    Infinity Pool

    ★★½

It pains me to give Infinity Pool 2.5 stars because there are some genuinely great scenes/ideas here and Mia Goth's performance is excellent but the good aspects of the film are often buried under a mountain of plot holes, incoherent social/political dynamics, and shallow, inconsistent characters. I could maybe see this being a movie I come to appreciate more over time in spite of its flaws but as of now I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone unless they were a Cronenberg super-fan.

Very good Stephen King book adaptation with great production value and solid performances from the whole cast. Does about as good a job as it's possible to do of making the idea of a killer clown from outer space genuinely frightening.

Although the ending is too sentimental for my tastes, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is an aesthetically pleasing and entertaining short film that makes the most out of its 40 min runtime.
