How did they get permission to film in the Vatican???

Kidding aside, this was an appropriate and entertaining movie to watch on the eve of a US presidential election. The allegory here, while thinly veiled, is effective in setting the table for a battle between hardline fundamentalism and liberal progressivism for the soul of the Catholic Church. Soderbergh was very much in his (black) bag in making this film. Arguably the most prolific director of the Internet age - it feels like he could make these in his sleep. Not all of them have hit for me, but still I am here for it.

Are there a lot of documentaries about America's economic struggles? Yes. But is this particular film necessary? Also yes. As soon as I saw Robert Reich pop up on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and on Upworthy, I knew where this shindig was going. So I will say that I pretty much knew what I was expecting from Inequality for All. There wasn't going to be the Michael Moore antics or the hard-hitting questions like in Inside Job (still…
