A fawning and thinly disguised piece of elite worship. Whilst this can be viewed as a ‘aren’t the rich bonkers and eccentric teehee’ film, this is unfortunately much worse. The Green Knight 2021
Technically and visually impressive, but ultimately let down by poor writing and pacing. It felt more like a succession of aesthetically pleasing set pieces, loosely stitched together, rather than an attempt at adapting the original text. Dev Patel was the only constant, verging on becoming a redeeming feature at times.
Had been so excited to see this, and there were signs of real promise early on. This could have been a brilliant adaption of one of the most interesting myths…
