It's no doubt messy, but for what it wants to be, it accomplishes it pretty well. I was also grateful for them not taking the easy route of just mocking the Fox films, and actually showing a soft spot for them. Those were definitely not particularly good movies as a whole, but I greatly appreciate them not being cynical over that.
One of those movies that stick with you long after you watch it. Anthony Hopkins gives the performance of a lifetime (and for a man with such a long and esteemed career, that's some high praise). He's so damn good, that he makes the rest of the cast look standard by comparison. Even Olivia Colman, who gives an *amazing* subtle performance, all the emotion you need is *all* on her face.
