It's actually insane how little romatic chemistry there was between Anora and Ivan lmfao.
Idk man, i get what they were going for, and yes the ending is really well done, but overall most of the characters felt stupid. I'm still picking my brain anout what I feel about Anora/Ani herself, like, there is obviously a lot of charading and masking of true vulnerability until the end, but then she just ends up reading as impulsive and helpless, which I don't think they were going for??? A lot of "female-suffering-core" scenes, which explains why the Academy favored it lol.
Watched this in two sittings and the whole time I kep being like "I JUST WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY AND ALIVE AHHHHH". Realized who the killer was halfway and after figuring it out this turned into the most stressful experience ever oh my god.
Overall really has the potential to rewire my brain forever, I loved Satoru so so much, and the message of the story being to live life with no hesitation, becoming your own superhero, and knowing that you are never alone in this world really had the tears going.
I loved the confession scene, also I am so fond of Dave Bautista, love to see him lead :)
Who knew that the greatest love story ever told would be between a traumatized teenager and a long dead young musician?
