Portrait of a Lady on Fire 2019
one of my favorite films. the curiosity and excitement of a first true love, while simultaneously facing this plight of venturing into the unknown of a same-sex relationship, is encapsulated amazingly between Adèle & Noémie. these women worked so well off of each other and the arc in this film did not feel rushed at all. it was just you and their story. every second goes unwasted- every touch, every look, every silence, possessed so much emotion.
- 1/2 star because it’s a period piece but, damn, is it a good one (& oh my god, the score/ending??? brilliant.)… so + 1/2 star
