Here's the thing: I watched this movie without reading the book or watching the first part. Yet, there wasn't any point in the movie where I felt particularly lost. I liked that. (idk what that says about the first part)
It sure is an engaging movie- with the worldbuilding, the storyline, the landscape, etc. One thing or the other kept happening but it never felt too fast to keep up with :P
It was a good watch! I felt a little hollow on tuning back in to the real world though.

The first word that comes to mind for explaining this movie is "mundane". With the most positive of connotations, of course. The realness with which the everyday life of a particular socioeconomic class has been depicted touches your heart slowly & surely. But again, calling it "mundane" does not feel right either. Not when there's so much adventure with an error occurring in an intricate delivery system, ultimately leading to a socially scandalous exchange of letters.
