Great sci-fi premise, and really cool world building in the first act. The last 30-40min of the film, however, are completely unnecessary. It tries too hard, as if by studio mandate, to wrap things up with melodrama and tragic romance. The female co-lead is also terribly written, not to mention the distracting casual sexism. I should mention that there a massive plot holes and absurd inconsistencies that can really bother a modern sci-fi viewer who is used to more logically…

The Celebration 1998
Perhaps the most horrifying within the genre of movies about dysfunctional rich families. A good film to rewatch if you're a fan of shows like HBO's Succession.
