This movie was clearly made to be a tribute to Disney, most likely in celebration of Disney 100. I really respect that concept — i was super excited when I saw the movie started with the classic book sequence like the Disney Princess movies of the classic era did.
However, while they were busy working in tributes and cheeky references, they forgot to make a story that was coherent or original in any capacity. The plot and backstory is underdeveloped…
