There seems to be something about the big studio films nowadays that restrict me from fully connecting with them. With their big scale and budget, it may come with other responsibilities like not steering too far away from the studios’ ethics; this seems to be my problem with Mickey 17.

ส่วนตัวชอบน้อยมากค่อนไปทางไม่ชอบเลย หนังพยายามเอาความเป็นคนชายขอบเข้ามาประสมแต่มันกลับไม่เวิร์คเลย เพราะในขณะเดียวกันหนังก็ใช้จุดนี้ปูทางมาเพื่อ dramatize ชีวิตของพวกเขา ใช้ trope เดิมๆ ในหนัง มันไม่ใช่ representation ที่ดีและแท้จริง ทุกซีนต้องมีการเรียกน้ำตาแบบไม่ make sense เท่าไหร่ ยังไม่รวม trope ที่เราคิดว่าน่าขยะแขยงมากที่สุดและไม่คิดว่าจะพบเจอในหนังยุคใหม่ (ที่ในสื่อตอนนี้หลายๆ คน บอกว่านี่แหละการกลับมาของหนังไทย) คือการพูดถึงการข่มขืนในเชิงของการแก้แค้น (พร้อมกับประโยคประมาณ “งั้นมึงไปจัดการกับลูกของกู”) ถึงแม้จะน้อยมากแต่มันทำให้เราเกลียดหนังเรื่องนี้ไปเลย
อีกอย่างคือตอนจบที่อ่อนมากๆ สุดท้ายแล้วทุกอย่างที่ปูมาก็จบลงแบบนี้ แบบสิ้นคิด ทั้ง sequence นั้นบอกเลยว่า ไม่ตื่นเต้นเลย และยังเป็นอะไรที่เดาออกง่ายซ้ำซากจำเจตามฟอร์มของภาพยนตร์ไทย อีกทั้งหนังยังมีความรู้สึกว่าจะต้องใส่ฉาก “เฉลย/หักมุม” ทั้งๆ ที่เป็นอะไรที่ไม่ต้องใส่มาก็ได้ ให้คนดูคิดเองก็ได้ การใส่ภาพพวกนี้มาให้คนดูเป็นการกำกับและจำกัดจินตนาการของคนดู ยึดมันไป แล้วใส่ความ “ถูกต้อง” ของหนังใส่เข้าไปในหัวคนดู บางทีการจินตนาการของคนดูมันสร้าง impact ได้ยิ่งกว่าการฉายภาพเสียอีก
แต่เรื่องที่ต้องชมคือพวก production design จริงๆ แต่ในส่วนของภาพคือถือว่าดีกว่าบางเรื่องในโรงตอนนี้แต่ก็เฉยๆ จริงๆ และช่วงแรกของหนังคือชอบที่สุด บทพูดไม่ค่อยมีแต่จากภาพรวมมันแสดงเนื้อเรื่อง ความรู้สึก
ความคิดได้ดี มัน subtle ซึ่งส่วนตัวชอบ ไม่เหมือนกับช่วงอื่นที่ทุกอย่างต้องมีการอธิบายมากเกินไปตลอด
อ่อ แล้วก็แอบชอบและตลกตัวละคร evil bisexual อยู่นะ แต่ส่วนตัวชอบแบบนั้นใน Passages มากกว่า 555
If you are impatient, you shouldn’t be filmmaker to be honest. The film feels too rushed to actually convey some meaning out of it. It seems the director is just too desperate to get to the ending, resulting in the in-between moment being unbearable and uninteresting to watch.
