Another movie where the woman is just DESTINED to sacrifice herself and specifically, her sexuality being on the line as the savior of the world. Idk, I don’t get this trope and it feels like it’s so overdone now, especially when the character didn’t develop anywhere…
The aesthetic of the movie reeled me in at first but tbh I felt like it went nowhere and it’s the same old tropes and stories maybe for 2025 let’s say stop doing remakes…
I really thought the first story and the second story were the same person tbh and that Faye was somehow all along the drug trafficker woman with the wig in hiding and that’s why she was coming and going then to California…
maybe I missed something or was just high but I was like damn that story was amazing but I really just made that moment up for myself after seeing a single quick shot of what looked like Faye…
The movie was beautifully made, and the last scene was moving - the fact that they used the actual Osage language in the film may be a bare minimum, but I’m happy a big scale production from Hollywood like this took care to do so.
Otherwise, I liked Leo getting spanked at the Masonic temple by his uncle and I’m so happy that movies are good and long again, a resistance to our tik tok generation fried brains lmao
I don’t know if I’ve ever sat in a theater and had such an overwhelming feeling of boredom before.. I just kept waiting, yawning and thinking damn, I hope it’s over soon. Horrible CGI and action fight scenes, horrible costumes and set design and the tone of the movie is just so off, I don’t get it. I just watched the first gladiator a couple weeks ago and literally it is miles better, even visually is more coordinated than whatever…
