Can’t believe I hadn’t seen this. Premise, writing, and convincing acting lead the way in this one. Will have to watch again and in the next few days. Hope a sequel is coming! 2ENE2?

I don’t know what to say. It’s a classic. The sci fi premise is great, performances are believable, and even has some decent humor.

I still think I prefer its spiritual successor, Palm Springs.

I mean I just really like Paul Mescal. 5 stars for his performance, body, accent, smoldering looks, etc. Pedro Pascal tried on about 3 different accents before deciding to just do his own voice which was a hilarious progression.

Jokes and homoeroticism aside, I really liked how they brought the two stories together and continued to allow for some real Stoic philosophical influence.

Lots I didn’t like! Weak plot, characters, and dialogue. I’m not a huge fan of gratuitous violence…

Really interesting film. Loved the soundtrack and some of the beautiful glimpses of Japan. Bill Murray does the thing where he is hilarious while playing it completely dead straight. Scarlett Johansson captures the spirit of ennui well enough, but even the delightful cinematography wasn’t enough for me to really enjoy it. Good, sparse writing. Can’t tell if it’s playfully racial at times or pointing out casual racism. Or if I’m a bit clueless for not knowing. I think more could…
