The Shawshank Redemption 1994
Shawshank Redemption is a movie that never once made me feel a sense of boredom. The pacing, acting and story kept me hooked throughout the entire movie.
The one thing that caught my attention at the end of the movie - "Brooks was here". There is something terrifying yet peaceful about that one particular scene. How one man was stripped of his entire life, and instead spent his entire life in prison, confined to a strict routine he had to…

The Grand Budapest Hotel 2014
The Grand Budapest hotel is an enchanting and vibrant movie that entrigued me with its unique and stylistic style, atmosphere, dialogue, and story.
This was the first Wes Anderson film I watched - and it was quite an experience. The choice of setting, atmosphere and composition during specific scenes was truly astounding, and succeeded in expressing certain messages in specific scenes. Even the colour choices expressed thoughtful feelings and emotions at times.
I felt as if the casting was perfect,…

Clueless 1995
Funny, entertaining, and rather unexpected. I'm honestly not sure what to make of that ending - it was a bit too freaky for my liking. The film is well paced, which complements Cher and Tai's character arcs neatly. Paul Rudd, Silverstone and Murphy were all great - it's a shame Brittany Murphy was taken from us so soon.
Overall, Clueless is a colourful and entertaining film that's great for switching your brain off for awhile. Can't say it's relatable, though.

Nosferatu 2024
(watched over a week ago)
This was the first film I've seen in 2025 - and it did not disappoint. I wasn't necessarily eager to see this, but went along to see what the hype was all about. I hadn't watched the original 1922 hit classic, nor the trailer for the remake, so I had no idea what to realistically expect.
I was completely blown away by Robert Eggers's artistic ability. He masterfully utilises different cinematography techniques and colours to…

Edge of Tomorrow 2014
2nd watch
Still as amazing as the first time.
Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are phenomenal in their roles. The cinematography complements the action wonderfully, and has some of the coolest fight scenes.
The story itself is great, considering how mind-bending it is. One of the coolest concepts I've seen.

Jaws 1975
Jaws is a thrilling and entertaining masterpiece that still holds up to this day. It perfectly demonstrates Spielbergs genius filmmaking abilities through it's well-paced plot and compelling story. The performances from Scheider and Shaw were great - and its a shame they are no longer with us. Drefyuss was great too.
