Raw and ouch this hit all the triggers for me, but oddly was also so validating. Absolutely loved how this was shot basically in one setting for the entire series, giving a sense of frustration and stagnation between the couple. It forces the audience to sit with the discomfort and work through every single emotion. Can’t say this was enjoyable, but for me, was absolutely necessary and a bit cathartic.
Relationships are rough, love changes and marriage is not for…

This felt like the saddest warmest hug. How is it my heart can feel both full and completely empty? Also I’m pretty sure Mike Mills is steadily becoming one of my favorite directors. Beautifully written, absolutely relatable, and so very well done.

Hmm, not crazy about the whole “white guy saves the day” bit…again. Especially when he’s not great at his job and feels he deserves the promotion, I mean c’mon. 🙄 But I will say this film succeeded in making me feel anxious, annoyed, and frustrated, basically like I normally feel in an airport anyway, especially LAX. Acting felt off between the main character and his girlfriend, but gotta love Jason Bateman, even as the antagonist, who I might add could never really be a bad guy with that calm gentle voice of his 🤣 He makes a bomb threat sound like a day at the spa.

Seeing Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) made me a bit nervous going into this one as I loved that version, but I tried to not compare and damn did this deliver in a completely different way! Can’t say much without giving all the goods away, but can say it really took on such a more profound sense of darkness and what that is defined as for the female lead in this more modern gothic version. Shame, depression, sexuality, love, sacrifice is all…
