As someone who came out of a hard heartbreak, this movie was needed. I had never been exposed to a friendship that was as raw and real as these three and it was so refreshing to see. No catty behavior, no jealousy, no rude conversations. Just pure friendship and love between the three of them. With the pain of heartbreak, it can be so hard to go on. But the girls make every experience worthwhile for her. I love that for her and for them.

I have always known Marie to be the woman in history who says “Let them eat cake!”

But she’s so much more complicated than that and I think that’s what attracts me to her and the film. She has this boyish personality, she’s a fire cracker, gets what she wants and is charismatic all the same.

A great depiction of the ups and downs of motherhood, more so downs than anything else.

I think the story surrounding the Castillos on the beach isn’t as important as the internal dialogue and internal flashbacks that Leda had while interacting with them. Nina is a fascinating creature to her and it seems because of the fact that she reminds Leda so much of her younger self.

something about the gore felt unnecessary. wasn’t much horror surrounding the deity either, she was almost benevolent. def wouldn’t classify this as a horror movie idk it seemed more psych thriller? hated the ending. I like happy endings and it seemed like a cheap way to tie off the loose ends. I mean, what happened to Malcolm? Does he use Thomas as another deity? Lots more could’ve been done with the ending for the protagonist for sure
