    The epitome of symmetry. This film uses a symmetrical framing and symmetrical set design in almost every shot. Even in dynamic shots, the symmetry is preserved. When the shot forward or backward, the symmetry is preserved and when Robert swish pans 90 degrees, the new framing is symmetrical every time.     After watching Robert Yoeman and Wes Andersons earlier films, The Grand Budapest Hotel makes a little more sense. It is a very unique example of visual storytelling, however, each aspect has been vetted and experimented with in the previous films.

In many shots, the subject is placed center framed and the background is extremely distorted but also packed with detail. The center framing forces the audience to examine the character fully. The wide angle then allows for detail about the character or situation to further inform the scene's impact.
