The characters in Wong‘s work are almost always blurred and damp and darkly repressed, fighting against the outside world with their inner despondency, searching for a place to belong with their silent wanderings. Only Ho Bouwing is open and free, only he asks for what he wants, only his weeping is overwhelming. He is the only bright yellow in a vast, dark palette, he is so special. And so is Leslie.
