  Genuinely wondering what everyone’s thought process was on set…did they really think they were eating or what…? The child actress gave  a better performance than both leads…nothing else worth saying.

  No notes!! I’ve seen the Broadway show twice, so the pacing was interesting on this since it was only the first half, but absolutely outstanding. Cynthia and Ariana truly did what they had to do and more. Also, whoever was on costume??? Cleareddddd. Sobbing, sobbing, sobbing. Excited for part two!!

  This movie changed my brain chemistry; it’s absolutely unparalleled. The unbelievably masterful performances from the entire cast, especially Colman Domingo and Clarence Maclin of course, had me sobbing the entire movie. The film was shot and executed beautifully, and the multidimensionality of everything and everyone shone through. This film is tender whilst hard, transparent whilst tangled, quiet whilst powerful. Each line, each person, each scene contained multitudes. Extraordinary film, now one of my all time favorites. Movie of the year.

  The height of male mediocrity. By far the worst movie I’ve watched all year. I was excited to watch it because it’s been picking up so much traction online, but I genuinely can’t believe the great reviews…I had to be watching a different movie?? Extremely promising plot, but full of holes and every situation and character decision, especially Kopek’s, were so improbable that I kept becoming more and more preoccupied by how bad the film was than the  story itself.…
