The Brutalist 2024
Style kept it going, didn't feel boring. It did have some substance, which, was presented well except for a few subplots that could have made the overall substance more assertive. Love the cinematography in this one.

Late Spring 1949
I loved the simplicity of this film. It's a squary aspect ratio and right from interiors to outdoors, all fit in well in this film, that is to say the composition is brilliant here. The bgm is so fine, it gave a healthy push to the storytelling here. The performances are great and so is the direction. I love how the filmmaker shows the modernisation(western influence) and yet keeps the mannerisms of Japanese culture in the frames.

A classic. The bgm that comes out at times is catchy. Beautiful filmmaking.
Here's my interpretation of the scene where a spring is shown in 1st story-
The spring is abiotic, the stairs are abiotic, the gravity is abiotic and so it's governed by laws of physics. After a gentle push it goes down the stairs(a good visual imo) and comes at rest finally to which the protagonist calls "it is as if it died" smthng like that. While he…Translated from by
