The film really alludes to a lot of iykyk allegories, so of course the discussion afterwards was a mixed bag of feelings.
This film serves as a reminder of the importance of finding joy against the adversities brought by military dictatorship. It captures the unique essence that’s never mentioned by those who lived under dictatorship that life continues and will keep going despite the awful reality of torture and forced disappearances. Should be renamed A Complete 5’7 Asshole. I’ll give credit where credit is due. Timothee did a great job portraying Dylan and his acting alone really had me FUMING.
Film really did a disservice to all the main female protagonists and how they were written. Would I recommend as a precursor film to get to know Dylan? Sure if you want fantasy.
