Kind of a hot mess in some ways, it tries to be everything, tackle every issue and has more endings than Return of the King. But it's also so Bong so I enjoyed it. The tonals shifts, broad satire and cute cgi monsters, make for a flawed but fun dystopian vision. I don't really care that it's a post-Trump satire in a Trump 2.0 world, we can still take the piss out of him, heavy-handed or not. The ludicrousy of…

It's definitely grown on me. In some ways the most Tarantino movie ever, all his trademarks are here. Is it his most gruesome?
Everyone says it but I'll add to the chorus: we need more Walton Goggins, I have been Goggins-pilled. Jackson and Tarantino still a match made in heaven.

This movie is trash but the teacher is so hot. Conflicted.

Back on my period drama bullshit. This is the best version of Jane Eyre, that I've seen at least. Ruth Wilson is THE best Jane Eyre. Yes, she isn't plain Jane but they never cast genuinely plain actresses, she has interesting features, the right manner, the right mix of quiet confidence and reserve. Yes, Toby Stephens is somehow better than Fassy. They have the best chemistry. This version has the right blend of gothic silliness, and romanticism. Thank you, BBC. Please keep churning out period dramas for the rest of time.
Also- this story is so much better than Wuthering Heights.
