Robert Eggers’ Noserfatu is a dark horny gothic dream. Lily was exceptional (fuck Sam Levinson for making us think she was a bad actress) and some of the things she physically did next level. And yes those were real rats

    The Brutalist

    ★★★★½

The Brutalist is a sweeping cinematic view at the post-WW2 immigrant experience across several decades. The movie hits on various themes ranging from religion, greed, wealth, obsession, ego, addiction, and redemption. Brody’s character Laszlo is asked what architecture means to him and his response is poetically dark and quiet yet it screams “I desire to be immortal.” The cinematography & original score are top notch. Seeing the film in 70mm is a special treat. The closing lines of the movie will leave you thinking deeply beyond what the film is trying to convey.

Comically bad, and I loved all of the games. Nothing about this worked (save a handful of jokes from Claptrap). Sometimes we enjoy watching train wrecks, this one at least wasn't a painful wreck to watch

The level of discomfort but awe I have for this movie. Body horror to the max and so directly in your face with its themes. Do I need to see this ever again, no. Would I steer most people away from this unless they deeply love horror, yes. Am I glad I saw this and know how good it is, yes.
