Spy Kids is just body horror for children
Like legitimately the subplot where they are mutating spies into these deformed brain-melted creatures just to put them in a kids show is actually body horror
And because it’s practical effects, it really sells that they are trapped in there
And you forget that in the plot, they aren’t just stuffed into costumes or something, no. It’s their ACTUAL BODIES that have been made to look like that. And they can’t communicate.
AND THE SCENE WHERE THE DAD HAS BEEN TURNED INTO ONE AND HE REACHES THROUGH THE BARS TO HIS SON BUT HE CANT SPEAK
