We Live in Time 2024
My number #1 from this year. Thought about it for DAYS. The obvious theme of grief being so intertwined from the start had me SOBBING. It was beautifully done and truly embodies what it is like to be a loved one suffering and to be the one who has to carry on after it is “over”. Time is one of my favorite motifs in movies and yet it is rarely done as well as it was here. Also, phenomenal chemistry within the cast, not just Andrew and Florence, but also supporting characters. UGH, so many good things.

Listen, I know everyone and their mothers talk about the score, but it’s popular for a reason. The knowledge and detail that went into this movie to make it as scientifically accurate (at least as accurate as science fiction can get) blows me away. I LOVE talking about this movie and its overall theme of love being a force stronger than astrophysics in the most nuanced of ways. I will never shut up about it. I could watch this so many times and never get tired of it.
