Lost in Translation 2003
Not to be that friend that’s too woke but I think that the theme of alienation and the notion of disconnection from the world and people fits perfectly with the setting of Tokyo but the way they portrayed the Japanese culture and painted the Japanese cast in such a weird xenophobic way left a sour taste in my mouth that I couldn’t care less about the two protagonists as I found them quite dull and extremely boring.
