Rent-A-Pal 2020
A movie hasn’t bummed me out like this one in such a long time. That in no way makes it bad though. In my eyes, that makes it super effective. Rent a Pal is a film that does its job and unnerves accordingly, joining the pantheon of tonally similar psychological thrillers such as as Mark Romanek’s One Hour Photo or Angela Bettis’s Roman. I do recommend this film and hope my musings haven’t put anyone off to checking it out. While Rent a Pal certainly isn’t for everyone, it’s definitely a solid film.
