  I read the book around a year ago and this quote has been haunting me ever since. We read novels fundamentally differently. When we admire a book it is largely because we appreciate being intimate with the sensibility of the author: a film version cannot just transfer that sensibility, but must develop its own.

  This is inherently haunting, meditative, and quietly devastating. The final moments are held with perfect restraint, leaving an emotional impact that lingers long after the credits roll.
