This probably would have been much better as a part two series to fma, not a movie. I think the concept is cool, but honestly I like where the anime leaves off better than this.

Fullmetal Alchemist 2003
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I think the first half of this show is straight up better than Brotherhood. It's no surprise as it has a steady pace and doesn't rush things like brotherhood did. Once we start deviating from cannon I do think it drops in quality somewhat as it tries to get its footing. However, I did really enjoy the last ten episodes.
BUT, I'm not a huge fan of the last episode. I wish we would have seen more and seen actually…

So beautifuly honest and disgusting in its depiction of actual nuclear war. As a piece of art it’s beautiful and twisted. My favorite movie of all time. I wish I could say more but there’s not much else to say really. You realize how fragile everything around you is and how quick it will be gone.
