This is a documentary film about the forming of Led Zeppelin and their rise to popularity.

I will admit, I went into this film as a bit of a Led Zeppelin hater. I didn’t really get the hype behind them, despite being talented musicians, and was introduced to them as plagiarists with the whole Stairway to Heaven debacle. I wanted to go into this documentary with a clear mind and, to be fair, there is a lot of interesting information…

Hilarious and interesting character study about a man trying to earn money by forging himself in working positions that he is less than qualified for.

The acting is very well done, especially from Wendel B. Harris Jr. as the main character who also wrote and directed the movie. The story goes in many intriguing directions and the witty dialogue is extremely funny at times.

Just watched this on MUBI. The film is a fictional drama that follows a group known as The Women’s Army, showing them protesting for equal rights and well-paying jobs. When their leader Adalaide Norris is placed under arrest and is then “found” dead in her cell, the group starts a feminist clash against the system that forces to keep them in their traditional homemaking roles.

The film has documentary-style cinematography that helps to give it an urgency that is already…

Very insightful look into the making of Jeanne Dielman, 23, Quai Du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, featuring conversations with actress Delphine Seyrig and director Chantal Akerman with most of talking being Delphine trying to understand what it is that Chantal wants from a scene and her performance.

We also see some rehearsing and verbal running over of the scenes, really putting into perspective how complex the seemingly simple film structure is to plan out.

Definitely recommend watching for insight into how directors communicate with their actors and just for some really interesting behind the scenes footage.

Very unnerving short about the moralities of selling something that is very personal to you to people who only seem to see the surface and may not really care about it’s true worth as long as it looks “cool” on their wall.

    I am speechless...

It’s truly movies like this that are the reason why I’m so interested with film to begin with. This should win best film at the Oscars, but I know it’s not going to. At least it will have my admiration along with that of countless other moviegoers and cinema-buffs.
