First They Killed My Father is a heartbreaking and deeply moving portrayal of the Cambodian genocide, which is done by Khmer Rouge. The film depicts, from Loung Ung's memoir, the loss of the innocent people because of Khmer guerillas' unreasonable rules.
It was truly a devastating movie, especially when you empathize with a 5-year-old going through such inimaginable horrors.
