I’d say this is Wes Anderson’s funniest work and maybe his best that I’ve seen (need to rewatch Fantastic Mr. Fox tho). Love the balance of his standard quirky comedy and hard-hitting themes. More heartwarming than sad I’d say, all with the candy-coated visuals we know & love from Wessy.  Super unique (as expected) which I’m a sucker for.

Best quote: too many to count, but I may be partial to “Son of a bitch, I’m sick of these dolphins”…

When a character unironically blasts “Sandstorm” to hype himself up, it’s automatically going to be a 3.5. Masterful cringe characterization.

Think about the most uncomfortable social interaction youve ever had, one that keeps you up at night wondering what you should have said or done differently, and then multiply it by 50 and that’s what you get from the runtime of this movie. My body seized up by how horrifically cringe-worthy these interactions were. Proud of myself for making it through this anxiety spiral 🙏🏼

There’s no less than six scenes in this that should have won Toni Collette an Oscar. Genuinely everyone here is just acting their asses off through the trauma and terror for two hours.

Sure there’s some spooky imagery which I find fun, but the real horror is what Ari Aster puts this family through. Rarely are movies allowed to be this cruel. Just a wholly and brutally devastating deterioration of a family’s mental state and THAT is the scary part…

Things I hate: meetings that could be emails, wasps, when people don’t wave after you let them over into your lane, Andrew Tate, and this movie.

Don’t get me started on the fact that this rubbish got 13 OSCAR NOMINATIONS while Challengers, Furiosa and I Saw the TV Glow were all shut out. Make it make sense.

Music terrible. Cinematography terrible. “Message” terrible. Only giving it a star because they swung for the fences and had some unintentionally funny moments. Big ole yikes from me.
