Am I Racist?

Am I Racist?

Pretty surprising?

Rhetorically this film(?) is pretty strong. It achieves the same effect that Borat did, particularly the rodeo scene where the absurdity of an ideology is pointed out just by letting people talk and taking it to certain extremes.

Some of this movie borders on cringe, whether it be a didactic “lecture into the camera” moment or delving into slapstick.

But overall, pretty strong piece of work that exceeded my expectations. Pretty clever with how it communicates its message and actually is strongest when Walsh just stays out of the way. It’s also the funniest movie I have seen in a good while.

This film will get shit canned, and while it’s not perfect and there are clear problems (namely a confederate flag being in the background of a bar during a segment where they try to prove bikers aren’t racist), but if people look at this objectively I’d think it would at least start up an interesting conversation.
