    The Green Knight

    So many questions:
    WTF did I watch?
    WTF is that ending?
How can A24 be so great?
How can a film look so beautiful?
Why is Dev Patel always so great?
Did I really see giants and a talking fox?
What’s wrong with his mother (and ours btw)?

A genuine romantic masterpiece showing what life and love can be at its best: mysterious, messy, hurtful, frightening, but also lighthearted, funny, passionate, and beautiful (and also racist against asians apparently).
The ending is absolutely perfect, made me cry for so many artistic and personal reasons, the most beautiful romantic scene I’ve ever seen.

    ‘The Purge’ done right!

As often with Alex Garland, whether as director or screenwriter, he uses archetypal characters only to take us on an atmospheric journey.

His approach to writing is very subtle, every detail adding to that atmosphere while suggesting the big picture, so anyone expands that world with their own subjective point of view, even with sensitive subjects on which everyone has a very strong opinion.

This often leads people to confuse Garland’s “open” approach with what they want the film to “say”, criticising him for all the wrong reasons.

Also, becoming a big fan of Cailee Spaeny.
