I appreciate the larger scale the film has compared to Shivers, but I feel it gets lost in all the ground it gives itself. With Shivers, its compactness was its strength; with Rabid, the story is all over the place - both in location and characters - and eventually traps itself into a repetitive cycle with its "person gets infected then infects someone else" formula.
