Zola 2020
Single-handedly the WORST movie I’ve ever seen. I didn’t like any of the characters and the only actually black woman had no personality the entire movie. The movie ends just as ridiculously bad as it started. There is no resolution, no change, no escape, just stereotypes and chaos.
It’s too bad that Letterboxd doesn’t let you rate something 0/5 without not showing the rating. I would love for someone to explain to me how it has 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. I spent money to rent this damn movie.

Sing Sing 2023
This is hands down one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It’s also the most sincere representation of black men I think I’ve ever seen in my life. The vulnerability and love within this film rivals anything I think I’ve ever seen. I just wish there were more films like this.
It definitely surpasses the movie “O.G.” in really driving home the concept of brotherhood in prison.
