The Green Knight 2021
A really thoughtful adaptation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, which offers a nice, albeit quite morbid, interpretation of the poem. It focuses heavily on discussions of man vs nature and the failure of Arthur’s court/decline of chivalry we see this through the court physically crumbling and in Gawain himself as he fails to act honourably/good in various situations.
However, there is a lot I thought was missing from the film and I’m not sure how much I liked that it took such a dark tone for most of the movie. Overall an interesting and aesthetic watch.
