Overrated and the non-chronological plot is a pointless gimmick on par with carelessly making your film black-and-white simply to give it a ‘vibe’.
Having said that its still pretty good I guess.

No Country for Old Men 2007
I thought this movie was pretentious garbage the first time I watched it. So I watched it again as well as 20 youtube videos explaining how smart it is and how dumb I am. Now look at me: the connoisseur of pretentious films.
Unironically though this is a masterpiece and is worth the rewatch and analysis.

This is the epitome of style over substance. Its largely competent with flashy action and a neat soundtrack, but if anything thats the issue. Its entirely bland. Nothing sits beneath the gilded veneer.
