The first Spielberg to make me get him as one of the all time best. Cannot believe I hadn’t seen this before as it has maybe the most stacked cast of all time. DDL manages to make you feel grief if an altered timeline.
Divorced from its early 2010’s politics and the fact that current events make it seem like a setup to a punchline this may be my favorite historical movie of all time.

Deeply affecting and vivid. Allows you to feel like you’re living in the film’s world while watching. If anyone in the media actually believed the things they say about our current moment this would sweep. Makes the best actress conversation feel silly after you’ve seen it.
