i think this was a good send-off, although easily the worst film out of the trilogy, very predictable. surprisingly, the lady who replaced sally hawkins did quite well for herself as mrs brown.

My Family and Other Animals 2005
It’s very slice of life-y, but perhaps too short to really do the source material any justice. The book is one of the most magical things i’ve ever read, but the film here doesn’t let you linger on any moment to really let you feel anything or leave a lasting impression. Still, it tries to stay as faithful to the book as possible, and I appreciate that a lot.

There’s something about the quietness and warmth of Hawaii that makes this Argentine romance feel almost poetic. It’s subtle, yet so sweet. Hawaii is like a warm summer day. The Jane Austen-esque elements make such a driving storyline. The picturesque cinematography is breathtaking, not out of this world but feels like real beauty that you can inhale. And the soundtrack is so beautifully done and fits so perfectly. This film is comfort. This film feels like a friend. I love it.

Soul 2020
Soul is, in all honesty, a great movie that literally everybody can enjoy, driven by a unique, interesting, and totally brand new story. Or at least the way they tell it makes it all feel so fresh. Pixar just doesn’t miss. It’s so amazing how far animation has come. The only thing that reminds you that all this is just animation is the character designs.
