Beautifully animated 2D and one of the best films of 2023 in my opinion. Boy and the Heron was fine but I really think this is the better film and should've won the Oscar that year. It shares a few similarities to The Wild Robot but I think this is better than that one too

The Grapes of Wrath 1940
This is a good film to watch with someone who's all ready seen it so they can assure you it does eventually get better for the Joads. However, it is a BAD film to watch immediately after watching the SCTV sketch "Muley's Roundhouse", in which Harold Ramis plays Tom Joad's "tetched" friend Muley.

I enjoyed the mid-80s setting but it didn't really even need to be part of the "X" and "Pearl" series, since it didn't really have much to do with the previous 2 films. I know it's the same character as the one in X but you could watch this without seeing the others and it wouldn't really make a difference.
