Kind of love this film. It’s an oldie but a goodie. Very inspiring and it filled me with rage, hope, curiosity as we got to watch the main character grow and heal during their battle with mental health.
The only problem I have is that I feel like it kind of demonizes indigenous people’s culture. I know the movie is VERY old so they couldn’t be progressive but still - I was a little hurt and confused.
Definitely would still recommend this to people though.
The symbolism they use for this story is so heartbreaking in the best way possible. I’m so in love with this movie but I haven’t watched it more than once because I’ve literally never cried harder.
This film does a great job making the audience feel everything the dad (main character) feels. I feel like I was with him terrified, feeling hopeful and hopeless.
