It's like one of them films that's not great but totally watchable. The CGI is terrible but it doesn't really matter, as for some reason to works. I do like the way that Ninjas are visualised, moving in the shadows, almost supernatural.
Rain plays a good ninja and the fight scenes although not the most creative choreography, they do enough to be borderline epic.
I am here for more Ninja movies, maybe with a bigger budget and true to the history of them.

I'd describe this as harmless fun. Make a deal with the devil, get 7 wishes. Each wish is granted but with a twist that makes them not so desirable. Brendan fraser plays hapless better than most and you feel for him throughout the film, quite predictable but it doesn't matter, you know what you're getting with this.

I first watched this when it came out in 2000, back then the bad guys did not look as cheesy, for lack of a better word. I'm a huge Jet Li fan and although his martial arts shine, there were some shoddy wire work at times that took away from the otherwise ok choreography.
Its not a bad film but a one watch only fire sure. Gangs competing for territory, in house betrayal, light romance and a pretty cool last fight.

Making my way back through the John Wick films because why not. The first will always be my favourite but the second is a solid entry. They managed to keep the story alive with the lore of the world in which John Wick exists.
He doesn't help himself sometimes but if it means he has to go on a rampage, creating amazing action set pieces and getting the well casted, annoying bad guy then crack on John.
