    The Substance describes the consumerist society we live in, where being young and beautiful guarantees privileged treatment, as shown through the protagonist's interactions with other characters. For example, her neighbor treats her radically differently depending on whether he encounters Elizabeth, the protagonist, or Sue, her younger self.     For a Netflix film, it’s quite original

    To be honest, at first I thought it was going to be a silly or inconclusive movie because it has the typical American film stereotypes. I really appreciated the originality of the cinematography and the plot; I found it interesting to see in the characters' reflections who is hiding in whose body. The movie is easy to follow and understand, despite the intricate plot. The final plot twist was completely unexpected. I liked it.
