Shutter Island 2010
Leo just doing what he does best. He truly deserved an Oscar 15 years ago. The rest of the cast puts on a perfect performance as well. I do however wish the infamous twist towards the end was a bit more abrupt and mind shattering. Just as the entirety of the film is a slow burner, I felt the final 30 minutes was especially prolonged.

Kutcher reaches levels not seen again from him. A serious sinister undertone to this film is what pulled me in, for the first half of the picture atleast.

Gladiator II 2024
Was this sequel needed? No. Was it an amazing follow up to the first Gladiator? Not really. But somehow the unexplained character backstories and foggy plot gracefully puts together one hell of an entertaining film. Definitely did not feel like 2 1/2 hours. And although I felt zero connection to Lucius, Paul did a pretty good job and I’ll keep an eye out for his future work.

The Penguin 2024
Colin Farrell is genius in this. Although I grow tired of the “taking on a younger side character who ends up humanizing the main character” trope, it’s there for a reason. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is the lack of action in the first episode which I’m sure will change.
